Robert Brown known by his stage Nilo Boy has called on industry players to focus more on Upcoming Liberian Musicians.
Robert Brown is a budding Liberian-Ghanaian Afro-beat, R&B singer and songwriter that elucidated about Ghana having a lots of good artistes with great songs but are not heavily patronized like other national’s artistes on most platforms.
He started music at Sixteen (16) when his cousin introduced him to one of his best friends called (Brizzy Vybz) who is currently his manager. He recalled that “by then he was the hottest and the youngest musician in the hood and most of the Junior High school used to play his music.
I remember when I met him he told me I was going to get big. He then took me to a professional studio and discovered me as an Artist.
The artist is also the founder and CEO of Reflex Entertainment, a record label.
Nilo,according to him, has recorded about 25 songs yet to be released and still recording. His songs were produced by top producers like; Drilliz, SkillzBeatz from Ghana and KellzBeatz from Liberia.
He said his determination, passion, vocal delivery and most of all the dedication to his music career is what makes him distinct from other music talents.
I do all genre of music but I love Afro-beat and R&B, he said.
Nilo had his primary and Junior High School education in Ghana.
In an interview, he said, “other nationals give 100% support to their artistes no matter where they find themselves. Some travel the world along with music from their local artistes and even pay for it to be played in clubs abroad. Most event organisers who patronize local artistes also don’t pay them well but gives foreign artistes the bigger payment and give them special treatment”
He added that his wish is to see local artists, producers, and music workers get paid well for shows and brand deals. “Let’s invest in good music distribution and also organize more good music workshops and seminars for both upcoming and mainstream artists and producers to make our music scene better for us all.”
